       The next Lieutenant Governor will likely be a woman if its true that the current LG will not be on the Cuomo ticket next year. The latest name to be floated is Senator Diana Savino who is also a member of the four person Independent Democratic Caucus, a small rump faction in the Senate.
    

 

         Another woman whose name was floated was Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney, a Republican in name who supported the Governor in 2010. I would place my bet on an upstate.
