No less an authority than the NY Times has declared the Nation's Capital, "the gayest place in America." Ahead of San Francisco, the assumed champ.
It was the folks in the gayest city who felt obliged to pass a "defense of marriage" law some years back. I think that rises to the level of irony.
Except for Alex Baldwin, I think most American's don't really worry about it all that much anymore.
