County lawmakers have approved hiring a contractor to raze the abandoned Whispering Pines Adult Home on Coffeen Street. The home was closed last winter following a deal to assist Samaritan Medical Center build a new nursing home on outer Washington Street.
Getting the building down quickly will prevent blight and the next step is decide what to do with the property which is prime real estate on a major street near Interstate 81.
