While the ads are all over TV, few people on the ground know much about the new Start UP NY program being pushed as a collaborative effort between economic developers and the SUNY system.
Around the state, college presidents are meeting with the locals to devise plans to submit zone proposals to Albany as all SUNY campuses are under pressure to come up with a plan.
Like anything, the devil will be in the details and there are lots of details linked to this program.
However,this is the Governor's effort to shake the tree and enhance New York's image for business, therefore few will want to spurn the program even if they have doubts or don't understand fully how it will work.
