Snowtown USA Closing Ceremonies a Fun Filled Evening

  The revived Snowtown USA Festival concluded tonight at the Dry Hill Ski Area with a torchlight procession on skis followed by a fireworks display that thrilled the crowd.
  

    Snowtown has proven a big success in its second incarnation. Some events in Thompson Park postponed due to weather are rescheduled for later in January. The Watertown Chamber of Commerce and the City Parks and Recreation Department organized the event at the suggestion of local citizens.
     The original Snowtown USA in the 1980s proved difficult to sustain, but the new version works well.  

 

 

     A festive crowd huddled in the Dry Hill lodge during the Sunday night festivities and heard local singing phenom Brittany Cean perform.
