Cuomo's Moreland Commission on corruption ready to report

     We should get our first peek this week at what the Moreland Commission is up to. The Governor's hand-picked panel is supposed to uncover political corruption and bring to light what is already widely known.

    The recommendations will form the basis of proposals Mr. Cuomo will advance to address the issue of too much politics in politics.

Early Skiing Delights Hill Owner

       It seems like its been a long, long time since there was skiing at Thanksgiving. It probably didn't happen that often when I was of skiing age but when you get older you always talk about 'old fashioned' winters with lots of snow and adversity.
       For the folks who run a hill like Dry Hill, spotty weather is a perennial frustration and its good to see them get a break this year.

Offending Those Wearing Wife-Beater T-Shirts

   In a world where a flip statement on or off the air can get a TV personality in hot water, I noted with interest something said by Joe Scarborough on Morning Joe.
   They were talking the Auburn game and former Obama flack Robert Gibbs showed up on air in an Auburn jersey after the team's miracle win over Alabama.
    Joe was chiding him about the shirt and said "that's what happens when poor white trash wins the lottery."
      In the most politically correct and sensitive network, isn't that racial stereotyping ?

Governor Slain in Battle Over Prison

   Tough night for the Governor, even though he had the tank. The popular cult show the Walking Dead reached new levels of violence as the living contributed to the ranks of the dead with a showdown battle at the prison.

 

 

    The series resumes in February. 

Jet's Fence is Legal....Just So You Know

     A fence is a fence, but a permitted fence provides a lot of piece of mind for dogs like Jet who don't want to be embroiled in controversy. This kennel fence was permitted and in compliance will all applicable local laws.

 

 

        This is the same four foot black vinyl clad fencing you have read so much about, but according to the law, its application here is acceptable. Kind of funny when you think about it.

It's Over

       A month ago the world looked a lot brighter for my JETS but it sure does look like they suck as another humiliating loss today...23-3 to Miami. Where's the team that beat the Saints and the Pats ?
Both Smith and Simms were terrible and the whole game was a pain to watch.
       All three NY teams are headed nowhere and the Super Bowl will feature teams from elsewhere coming to the Big Apple. How sad.

    Had a 'Bama native in the bar last night and hours after the Auburn win, he was still rattled as are many Tide fans.

     It may have been just about the most exciting ending a game could have, punctuating the long and intense rivalry.
      Counselors needed to be made available after that game.
