After Cortland's drunken party: Cortaca 'was hijacked and used as an excuse to throw a raging kegger' | syracuse.com

Thousands of people surged into the streets of Cortland this past weekend for an event called "Cortaca", a party linked to a long time football rivalry between SUNY Cortland and Ithaca College, 22 miles away.
Too much revelry say some as the crowds, many deemed by society as "underage" drank away.  It would be nice to just blame the bars, but they weren't the issue here, It's all that pent up energy in these young college age adults and no structured environment to party in.
So when an ad hoc street kegger comes along, deal these students in.
I'd blame it on the psyche of hooliganism linked to the violent sport of football.
Cortland has appointed to commission to study the issue. Seems pretty cut and dried to me.
