WDT: Construction almost set to start on Woolworth Building

One of several projects in central Watertown that will help transform downtown starts soon as the rehabilitation of the Woolworth Building gets underway. By itself this $15M project would just be a nicety to Public Square, but combined with a range of other projects totaling a hundred million dollars, downtown is not just back but changing for the better.
A planned development of the Lincoln Building, the Empsall Store and the Solar Building are also in the works as is the reopening of the mall under Stream. Combined with past projects and a new generation of property owners and Watertown has reason to be confident and proud. In Reaganesque terms...a shining city on a river.
