A dark chapter in Watertown history was remembered this week with dedication of a grave marker for young Jack Blake, one of two children killed that year by the vile serial killer Arthur Shawcross. Young Jack was killed in 1972 along with Karen Ann Hill, whose body was found just up the street from me under the Pearl Street Bridge.
Shawcross paid little for his Watertown crimes and went on to kill several Rochester area women before finally being locked up for good. He later died in prison.
