Rob Ford might seek injunction to stop council meeting, his lawyer says | Toronto Star

Trying to reign in an elected official  who you don't like but has been convicted of no crime is not easy and the legality of doing so may get a test in Toronto in the week ahead.
City Council is passing measures to strip Mayor Rob Ford of his duties and powers as the city's elected mayor. Not everyone versed in municipal law in Ontario thinks that's legal.
Going to court may be the answer.
Mayor Ford's recent behavior is bizarre by most measures, but he is refusing calls to leave office including those made at a protest on Saturday.

Mayor Ford has met with a top attorney specializing in municipal law and with personal wealth Mr. Ford likely has the means to go to court.
