Dog Day on HOTLINE
Two dog loving county lawmakers went a little rogue today, putting aside their usual concerns and politics to help draw attention to the Jefferson County Pound where they are trying hard to adopt out the twelve remaining dogs before Christmas.
Legislators Anthony Doldo and Bob Ferris each stroked a $150 check with the intent of aiding the adoption effort. The pair did it with the best of intentions and were not trying to circumvent the chain of command.
Dog Warden Todd Cummings explained the pound has a 92% adoption rate and euthanized a record low 14 doges this year.
You can check out the pack in person to see if your next friend is living there.
