Senate Democrats have changed the rules and no longer is a super majority needed to force a vote on appointees to the executive branch and the judiciary. The so-called "nuclear option" ensures some kind of retribution in the future, but for now Democrats say they can use their majority to unplug a logjam created by the GOP.
Another story today was the proposed SOFA with Afghanistan. President Karzai says he doesn't trust America and wants to delay signing it till spring. Washington wants it signed now.
The deal would commit US troops to the third world country for at least a decade.
I say don't sign the deal and get out of Dodge.
Oh, and Mayor Bloomberg says he wants to ban Styrofoam.
