Poll: As Goes Obama, So Goes NNY ? - CBS News

Yes we spend too much time on polls, but trends matter and the willingness of so many people to disapprove of President Obama's stewardship after five years is telling as is declining support for Obamacare.  Numbers fluctuate and they will,  but the climate is no doubt changing in swing Congressional districts, perhaps even our own.
That is why Rep. Bill Owens was so willing to sign on to the Upton Bill and put a bit of daylight between him and the President.
Remember, in 2012 while Mr. Owens was being reelected by a couple points, the President was winning the North Country by six points. As the White House becomes more anchor than buoy, one wonders whether either of the GOP hopefuls could really win. Prospects have improved but you still can't beat someone with no one and the challenger has to be seen as offering something new and better.
