GOP governors powwow boosts Rob Astorino’s candidacy | New York Post

      Presumptive GOP frontrunner for Governor in 2014 Rob Astorino was in AZ this weekend to woo the Republican Governors Association.  Mr. Astorino needs to lock down GOP support now as 2014 looms.

     The Westchester County Executive seems an attractive candidate, but needs to raise tens of millions of dollars to compete against Governor Cuomo who already has a $30M war chest and can raise more on demand.
     So far Mr. Astorino is not well known in most of NY and other than niche issues life the SAFE NY Act or fracking, it is unclear how Mr. Astorino makes the case against Mr. Cuomo....at least enough of a case to justify voters making a change.
