New York City's outgoing mayor is warning his successor to be wary of a "labor-electoral" complex that stymies any reforms of expensive benefit packages. Mayor Michael Bloomberg leaves office will all labor contracts expired because he was unwilling to grant raises without benefit changes.
The irony is that Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio is a tool of that complex and repeatedly has touted a "progressive" agenda he plans to bring to office.
Sometimes, its that type that turns on his masters and we will see if Mr. de Blasio can accomplish what frustrated Mayor Bloomberg. They always said, only Nixon could go to China.
