Lobbying paid off and the State of NY has relented on plans to close in patient services at the St, Lawrence Psychiatric Center in Ogdensburg.
It's all due to my good friend Mayor Bill Nelson. Actually, a lot of people made the case and the most compelling was not just saving jobs, but the real need for mental health care close to home in NNY.
