In what was more a pageant than a ribbon cutting, the newly expanded and renovated Top's Market in the Washington Street Plaza was dedicated today. It is a beautiful addition to the southside, providing a truly neighborhood food store with a full selection of products.
The Watertown High Chorus entertained as Top's executives presented checks to local charities as well as a donation of food to the Urban Mission. City residents remember previous food outlets in the same spot across from the high school dating back to the Market Basket store in in the 1950s and later, Acme Markets and Super Duper. The store is made larger by using the former drug store which moved to a separate building.
I noticed their lemons and limes looked great. Those are about the only groceries I shop for.
