Thousands Usher in Christmas Season on Square

   A crowd estimated in the four to five  thousand range packed Public Square tonight as many other New Yorkers watched on YNN as Watertown celebrated Christmas with a joint parade/tree lighting.
    It was the first time the events were combined and the first time a parade was held at night delighting families who came to see the brightly lit floats followed by Santa on a city fire truck.

   

      Local singing groups sang carols and crowds packed the Crystal Restaurant for Tom and Jerry's as the city celebrated the season in a magnitude not seen in some time. State Senator Patty Ritchie also addressed the crowd and walked in the parade with me and Councilman Macaluso.
