Another master plan for prosperity is drawing some criticism....This one purports to tell how to bring prosperity to a 12 county region based in Syracuse and NNY officials...at least the ones who even know such reports exist say if adopted by the state as gospel could result in less money for the North Country.
It's curious that money is spent on a study of a 12 county region based in Syracuse when the state's master plan for economic development is predicated on a different regional map that delineates the North Country as its own region stretching from Watertown to Plattsburgh.
Regionalism creates its own challenges and problems as does local parochialism.
But it is good business for the Brookings Institute which prepared this latest tome for success.
The rest of us just go to work everyday blissfully ignorant of all these plans for our success.
